Startled pedestrians took evasive action as a tanker smashed into a dock in Yangon, Myanmar.

The incident involving an unnamed overseas-flagged vessel was captured in video footage on Tuesday morning.

It caused significant damage to the jetty and sank a small wooden motorboat.

Other vessels are seen desperately getting out of the way as the tanker sounds its horn, before the bow crunches into the concrete and rises from the water.

“The boat drifted downstream and collided with the wharf and a boat. There were no casualties or injuries due to the accident, and no one has opened a lawsuit. Representatives of the port authority and the vessel have already discussed the issue,” an unnamed police officer told the Eleven website.

One maritime worker also told Eleven that the ship was moving too fast for the section of the river it was in, causing the captain to lose control.
