Tschudi Group’s in-house chartering and management division is relocating from Denmark to be closer to head office in Norway.

Tschudi Logistics will move to Oslo, next to the diversified shipping group’s headquarters.

The subsidiary, set up in 2006, has operated from Aarhus up to now.

The move is being made due to “structural changes”, the company said.

Stig Rich Pedersen will head the department, drawing on his experience from more than 20 years in maritime and logistics.

“Having an in-house chartering department gives us a strong competitive advantage,” he said.

“Our extensive network of shipowners, and the short chain of command, enable our team to deliver flexible solutions — quickly.”

Pedersen joined Tschudi Logistics in August 2021 and has been the country manager for Norway.

He previously worked at the huge shipping agency GAC and logistics giant Kuehne + Nagel.

“I have worked with chartering activities for many years, so for me, this role was a natural next step in my career, and I am truly grateful for the trust, opportunities and challenges that lie ahead,” he said.

Centralising activities

“Tschudi is a family-owned Norwegian company and centralising our chartering activities closer to our headquarters will naturally create better synergies across the Tschudi Group and our various shipping and logistics activities.”

Pedersen said his team supports co-workers in finding the right tonnage at the right time.

Tschudi Logistics also works with sister company Tschudi Ship Management on vessel management.

The division has offices in Europe, Africa and Asia, covering oil and gas, energy, construction and other industrial sectors.

Tschudi Group has a history dating back to 1883.

Traditionally it was a shipowner, but has developed into a variety of subsidiaries in shipping, offshore and towage, logistics, personnel and financial services.

It is still listed with two cargo ships, a small cruise vessel and a ro-pax.
