Ina statement Monday Exmar said it had sold the 84,270-cbm Flanders Tenacity(Built 1996) and the 37,450-cbm Eeklo (built 1995).
The disposals areexpected to generate net cash proceeds of around $44m. Both vessels are due tobe handed over to their new owners in June.
TradeWinds reportedearlier this month that the Flanders Tenacity is on time charter to Japan’s Itochuuntil August at $1m per month.
“Thedisposal of older tonnage is in line with the company’s strategy tocontinuously serve its customers with a quality modern competitive fleet,”Exmar said.
ExmarLPG said its midsize gas carrier newbuilding programme remains on trackfollowing the delivery of the 38,000-cbm Waasmunster in April.
It is due to take delivery of two more ships in the series this year – theWarinsart during the first week of June and the Waregem in the fourth quarter.
The remaining nine other midsize LPG carrierscurrently on order will be delivered between 2015 and the first quarter of2018.
Separately, Exmar LPG said the 83,300-cbm BWTokyo (built 2009), which it has under commercial control since the beginning of May, has been fixed for atwo year time charter at a rate described as “rewarding levels”.
