Seoul-listed HMD says it has netted two LPG ships worth a collective KRW 115.3bn ($98.5m).
It has not revealed further details about the vessels and calls to the shipbuilder were unanswered on Friday.
Shipbroking sources say the price suggests mid-sized vessels, however, the fee would suggest a “great deal” on such ships.
As TradeWinds reported in the past 24 hours, Mipo has been on a hot streak winning a potential 16 vessels from Scorpio Tankers.
Its contract for medium range (MR) and handysize tankers includes four firm vessels and 12 options.
Clarksons Platou counts 122 vessels in the orderbook of HMD, including 25 LPG carriers.
Its gas clients include Thenamaris, Navigator, Yara, Stealth Maritime and Eastern Pacific.
