Friday & Co Shipbrokers has recruited Justin Archard as a sale-and-purchase broker.

Archard joined the Rotterdam-based company after a 24-year career in Germany, Singapore and Australia.

Previously, he was managing partner and founder of One World Shipbrokers in Hamburg.

He has also worked as a director at SAL Heavy Lift and for Jumbo Shipping.

“Now he’s returning to his roots in S&P shipbroking while also taking on a new role as a special projects marine transport broker,” Friday & Co said in a post on LinkedIn.

Archard is also the founder and curator of the Market Sentiment Index for the multipurpose sector.

“We’re excited to have him on board and can’t wait to learn from his global experience,” Friday & Co, led by director Rod Schlick, said.

Friday & Co was formed at the end of 2017 when Dutch ARAS Shipbrokers and Latvian Smilgas Shipping merged.

The Friday & Co team comprises several specialists operating from their homeport of Rotterdam and one from Riga. Both offices work as independent shipbrokers.

The company is mainly active in Europe and has a team of six brokers in Rotterdam.

The firm delivers services within shipbroking, vessel valuation and maritime consultancy.

It focuses on niche markets within dry cargo, MPP, offshore, heavylift and tankers, and was active in 45 countries in 2023.

Friday & Co had 24 vessels delivered consisting of 10 MPP/general cargo ships, seven offshore support/research/tug vessels and seven others, including one chemical tanker and one bulk carrier.

It has made more than 400 vessel valuations.
