Korea's DSME has finally delivered the first of two drillships ordered by Angola's Sonangol in 2013.

The KRW 900bn ($800m) pair were originally scheduled for handover in 2016 at a combined price of KRW 990bn.

The yard ended a 12-month dispute over the delayed vessels last year, agreeing a reduced fee.

The second ship will be handed over within two months, DSME said on Friday.

Sonangol reportedly balked at full payment as its financial status worsened amid a fall in global oil prices.
