Knud E Hansen is going back to Nanjing Jinling Shipyard to develop three more ro-ros for the Grimaldi Group.
This time, the Danish ship designer is working on ships for the Italian shipower's subsidiary Finnlines.
The trio of ships are expected to be delivered starting in 2021 and will have more than 5,000 square metres of vehcile decks while carrying the highest Finnish/Swedish ice class, 1A Super.
The designs will be similar to the six ro-ros Knud E Hansen worked with Nanjing Jinling last year for the Grimaldi Group, known as Grimaldi Green 5th Generation ships.
The Finnlines ships will share the same hull design and will also run on electricity in port, thanks to large lithium batteries on board.
