Singapore-based Spring Liner has emerged as the potential counterparty in Ardmore Shipping’s recent sale and leaseback deal.

The Cork-based owner confirmed earlier this month that it had completed a deal for the 47,472-dwt sisterships Ardmore Sealeader and Ardmore Sealifter (both built 2008).

The identity of the Japanese leasing company as the buyer of the two ships was disclosed in the latest market report from Affinity Shipping.

Prices and charter rates were not disclosed, but Ardmore said at the time that the transaction released around $12.3m in cash

Ardmore has a fleet of 27 tankers, the majority of which are post 2013-built. However, it does have six ships built between 2002 and 2008.
