Arsenio Dominguez has confronted key sustainability challenges since taking the helm of the International Maritime Organization in January.
The crisis in the Red Sea has threatened the lives of seafarers and potential environmental catastrophe, and the IMO is working to come up with the policy tools that will push shipping to reach its goal of net zero greenhouse gas emissions by around 2050.
The secretary general has also been a voice for seafarer welfare.
In this week’s episode of Green Seas, Dominguez spoke to TradeWinds editor-in-chief Julian Bray in front of a live audience at the TradeWinds Shipowners’ Forum Germany in Hamburg.
