Italian owner Amoretti Armatori has sealed a financing deal for two tanker newbuildings.
Law firm Watson Farley & Williams (WFW) advised Credit Agricole Italia on the deal.
The amount was not disclosed.
The company has ordered a pair of 4,500-dwt chemical carriers at Ningbo Xinle Shipbuilding in China.
Construction will start in the first half of 2019, with delivery scheduled for 2020.
The transaction represents the Amoretti family’s first newbuild order in nearly ten years, WFW said.
The group has 11 tankers with capacities ranging from 2,700 dwt to 30,000 dwt.
The WFW Italian maritime team that advised Credit Agricole was led by partner Furio Samela, supported by senior associate Michele Autuori and associates Antonella Barbarito and Beatrice D’Amato.
Amoretti's advisor Marialaura Dell'Abate told TradeWinds: "Our company is pursuing a rejuvenation strategy of the fleet and the new vessels will replace other outdated units currently operating in the North Sea area."
