A Gibraltar-flagged tanker will be auctioned in Trinidad next month at the request of its mortgagee, Caterpillar Financial Services.
The admiralty marshal of Trinidad & Tobago has ordered the sale of the 9,100-dwt Olesya (built 2009), which is listed as owned by Jop Shipping.
The vessel has been arrested in Trinidad since January 2018 or earlier for repairs to the main engine gearbox, which will need to be completed by the buyer, broker CW Kellock said.
Offers are invited by 8 April.
The vessel is listed in the managed fleet of Intersee of Germany, which has not responded to TradeWinds' request for comment.
Caterpillar also forced a sale of the 9,900-dwt MPP Lucina (built 2004) in December.
Another vessel operated by Intersee, the 9,200-dwt tanker Orestina (built 2009), which is owned by Ton Shipping, is under arrest in Turkey, according to the broker.
