Concordia Maritime has brought back a former executive of parent company Stena as its chief financial officer.
The Denmark-based product tanker owner has wasted no time in filling the gap left by Ola Helgesson, who said he was resigning last month.
Martin Nerfeldt is the new man. He worked at the Stena group in various roles until leaving in November last year to become chief financial officer of sporting goods company Sail Racing International.
"I am delighted to welcome Martin to Concordia Maritime," said chief executive Kim Ullman.
"With his extensive experience and expertise from leading positions in shipping within the Stena Sphere, I am convinced that he will be an excellent addition."
Nerfeldt holds an MSc in economics from the Gothenburg School of Business, Economics and Law.
He has been group business controller and head of investor relations at Stena Finans, chief executive of Stena's Tritec Marine Consultants and business controller at the Swedish group's vessel management company Northern Marine Management.
"Martin has a strong business focus and has worked with great success for many years in business planning and control, financing and accounting, notably in Stena’s various companies and businesses that are linked to shipping. It feels very good to welcome Martin back to the Stena Sphere," added Concordia chairman Carl-Johan Hagman.
Nerfeldt joins on 1 February. Helgesson will continue until then, but wants to pursue other opportunities thereafter.
