A Cosco executive has jumped to his death from a hotel window in Taiwan.

Police cited by the CNA news agency said Jia Libin died on Friday morning in Taipei after falling from his room on the fifteenth floor of the Sunworld Dynasty Hotel.

He was the managing director of a Cosco Shipping Energy Transportation (CSET) subsidiary.

Jia, 39, had no pulse, was not breathing and appeared to have sustained multiple fractures, police added.

CCTV footage from the hotel showed Jia falling from a window, police said, adding that a nine-page letter was found in his room and there was no evidence of any physical altercation.

The letter mentioned his struggle with depression.

Investigators found that Jia checked into the hotel on Thursday and staff thought he appeared to be in an unstable mental condition.
