Norwegian oil major Equinor has extended a charter for a JJ Ugland shuttle tanker.

The shipowner said the 126,000-dwt Vinland (built 2000) will remain with Equinor for another six months.

This will take it up to November 2019.

There are also further options to stretch the deal until August 2020.

The vessel is operating in the North Sea, the company said.

JJ Ugland signed the original charter with Equinor in January last year. No rates have been reported.

Last month, the company chartered its 60,000-dwt newbuilding ultramax Jorita to Norden for an unspecified term.
