Sweden's Rederi AB Gotland has bought out partner Laurin Maritime's interest in three MR tankers.

The company said it had acquired 50% in each of the 46,000-dwt Calypso and Cavatina (both built 2010) and Corrido (built 2011), giving it 100% ownership.

The tanker and ferry company bought an initial 50% holding in the vessels in 2014 as it sought to lower its fleet age.

The trio are chartered to Anglo-Atlantic Steamship on a bareboat basis.

Laurin has in recent years bought 50% holdings in four other tankers from Gotland.

Annual profit down

Gotland also revealed a fall in net earnings for 2016 to SEK 343m ($38.28m), from SEK 360m in the previous year.

Revenue rose to SEK 2.11bn against SEK 2.08bn, but operating expenses were higher at SEK 1.48bn from SEK 1.38bn, and the tax bill also increased.
