The Paris MOU port state control group has barred a tanker that failed to call at a repair yard following a detention.

The 2,200-dwt Rawan (built 1995) was detained in Limassol, Cyprus, on 23 April and left the port on 25 July.

But it failed to call at the designated repair yard in Alexandria, Egypt, as agreed, Paris MOU said.

It had been allowed to sail for a single voyage from Limassol to Alexandria for a cargo discharge and then to proceed to Egyptian Ship Repairs & Building & Co.

The ship will now be refused access to any Paris MOU port or anchorage until it has provided evidence it has complied with its requirements.

It is listed as owned by Sky Bay Shipping of the Marshall Islands.

There is no AIS information beyond 27 July.

Paris MOU also banned the 3,400-dwt general cargoship Sormovskiy 32 (built 1974) after it was held for the third time in two years at Rostov-on-Don in Russia.

The vessel will be barred for three months.

It is operated by Sredne-Volzhskaya Sudokhodnaya of Russia.

The 3,500-dwt Volgo Balt 193 (built 1976) was also banned for the same period after being detained for the third time in three years.

It is operated by Valship of Ukraine.
