The only ship belonging to Marshall Islands-registered Port Land Shipping has been languishing under arrest in Singapore for the past two weeks due to a dispute over an unpaid repair bill.

According to court records available to TradeWinds, ESG Maritime Enterprises of Singapore arrested the 46,100-dwt chemical/product tanker Green Land (built 2002) on 17 April after claiming it was owed $133,424 for repair services rendered to the vessel.

Court records also indicate that Singapore-based Ermis Shipping Agency has filed a caveat against the arrest.

The Green Land has been with Port Land Shipping since being bought as the Fos Spirit from Avanti Maritime in 2021.

Technical management of the vessel was first assigned to Dubai-based Nan Lian Ship Management upon handover from the Greek-backed seller.

According to the Equasis database, the ship was detained in Singapore for five days in February last year after failing a port state control inspection.

Port Land Shipping shifted the technical management of the ship across to Baltic Marine Services, a United Arab Emirates-based offshore services company that operates a fleet of six anchor-handling tug supply vessels, in January this year.

At the same time, the Green Land was switched from the Marshall Islands flag to that of St Kitts and Nevis, while its class shifted from Bureau Veritas to the Polish Register of Shipping, according to S&P Global’s International Ships Register.

Port Land Shipping has no listed telephone contact details while Baltic Marine Services could not be reached on Thursday morning.
