Sinokor Merchant Marine is continuing an effort to reduce its VLCC exposure by putting two more of the large tankers on the sales block.
The move appears to extend a sales drive that saw the shipowner sell a string of VLCCs in 2020.
The South Korean shipping giant is looking to sell the 309,000-dwt Baltic Sunrise and Baltic Glory (both built 2005), brokers said.
The Hyundai Heavy Industries-built vessels are the oldest of eight VLCCs in the Sinokor fleet.
The shipowner purchased the tankers from compatriot HMM in May 2015 for $49.5m each. For a number of years, Sinokor has chartered the duo to oil major Shell at a rate of $37,500 per day.
VesselsValue estimates these two VLCCs are worth slightly less than $30m each.
Sinokor has also shown a willingness to sell modern VLCCs amid a sales drive that saw it offload nine vessels in 2020.
In August, it clinched a deal to sell four modern Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries-built ships to compatriot SK Shipping.
The 300,000-dwt V Glory, V Harmony, V Advance (all built 2019) and V Prosperity (built 2020) changed hands for about $90m each.
Seoul-based Sinokor, whose representative did not respond to a request for comment, has a fleet of 158 ships and 15 newbuildings, according to Clarksons. The data shows it has bulkers, tankers, containerships and gas carriers.
Sinokor's fleet has a market value of $4.49bn.
