Chatter linking Danish tanker owner Torm with a second en bloc transaction in quick succession is wide is off the mark, sources suggest.

Multiple brokers are connecting Torm with both the 46,800-dwt Atlantic Pegasus and Atlantic Queen (both built 2010).

A price of $20m is being placed on each of the Hyundai Mipo-built ships, which TradeWinds reported to be circulating for sale earlier this year.

However, following initial reports, well placed sources now suggest there is no substance to the rumour.

Copenhagen and US-listed Torm announced the $83m purchase of four MR tankers built in 2011 at the start of June.

While the ships were not identified in a statement, brokers name the vessels as the 52,000-dwt CPO Australia, CPO New Zealand, CPO Malaysia and CPO Singapore.

Cido has 17 MR tankers in its fleet and the company is also active in the crude, dry cargo, gas and car carrier sectors.

A Torm official declined to comment, while Cido has yet to respond to an email seeking comment on the reports.

Torm has over 70 owned ships on the water and nine under construction, as well as a small chartered fleet.
