US-listed Tsakos Energy Navigation (TEN) has clinched a period charter deal with Stena Bulk of Sweden for its 157,000-dwt tanker Eurovision (built 2013).

The agreement is for 18 months at $25,000 per day. Tsakos bought the tanker as a resale from a Korean owner in 2012 for $52m.

The deal lifts the number of suezmaxes in the Stena Sonangol fleet to 24 units.

TEN has also reportedly clinched three-year deals for two LR1 tankers with Flopec of Ecuador.

TEN has extensive co-operation with Flopec, which now has taken the 74,000-dwt Selini and Salamina (both built 2009) at some $15,000 per day each.

The ships have been on three year charters to oil major Shell at $16,000 per day.
