London-listed shipping fund Tufton Oceanic Assets has brought in experienced Norwegian lawyer Christine Rodsaether as a non-executive director.
Her start date has yet to be confirmed, but she becomes the fourth director at the company.
Rodsaether is a partner at law firm Simonsen Vogt Wiig in Norway, with more than 30 years' experience of offshore-related transactions, as well as in design and vessel construction, restructurings, international banking and finance.
She has previously been a partner at Andersen Legal ANS and worked for Norwegian law firm Wikborg, Rein & Co.
Experienced director
Rodsaether has extensive board experience, and currently serves as a director at Norwegian chemical tanker owner Odfjell, as well as Norwegian Finans Holding and Bank Norwegian.
Tufton chairman Robert King said: "We are delighted to welcome Christine to the board as she brings both extensive and relevant experience to the company."
Rodsaether has previously been on the boards of Tide AS and Songa Bulk.
Tufton Oceanic Assets said it enjoyed a "strong" second quarter, despite volatile markets that impacted its vessels' values.
The London-listed shipowner, which is backed by Tufton Investment Management, said its operating profit was $0.03 per share over the three months to 30 June.
This is equivalent to an operating result of $7.7m, based on Tufton's more than 255m shares.
The 16-vessel fleet consists of containerships, tankers, bulkers and an LPG carrier.
