In announcement issued after the close the company pointed out that Wikborg has served on its board of directors since 2005, the year of its inception.

"We wish to thank Rolf for his valuable contributions through some ten years of service," the operator added.

DHT failed to shed light on why Wikborg resigned and didn’t say whether efforts to find a replacement are underway.

Wikborg was one of the founders of AMA Capital Partners, but left in 2011. Prior to AMA the industry veteran worked for Fearnleys in Norway and Mexico.

After leaving AMA Wikborg opened his own investment banking practice in Oslo, according to DHT’s most recent annual report.

At last check Wikborg was still a member of Western Bulk’s board of directors, a seat he has held since 2010.
