A Stena RoRo vessel has reportedly been bought by Amazon billionaire Jeff Bezos' space exploration company Blue Origin.

WP Tech reported that the 2,175-lane-metre Stena Freighter (built 2004) will be used to ship rocket parts.

Most speculation in recent years relating to Bezos and shipping has surrounded Amazon's possible purchase of a containership fleet.

Blue Origin was set up in 2000 by Bezos to enable private access to space travel.

Stena Freighter was one of two ro-ros sold by Stena last month.

The sisteship Stena Carrier went to Baja Ferries in Mexico and has been renamed Mexico Star, brokers said.

Stena Freighter was said to be set for delivery later this year.

No prices have been revealed.

Stena said it has a non-disclosure agreement in place regarding the sale and cannot comment on the buyer.
