Belfast ship supplier J McCready & Co is ceasing to trade after 90 years in the business.
Director Hugh Elliott placed a newspaper notice saying a liquidator had been appointed to close the company down.
The notice said: "We, the directors, would like to thank all of our loyal and dedicated customers, suppliers and employers for their assistance and support over the past decades and would wish each and every one of them continued success."
It pledged to pay creditors in full.
Seamas Keating of accountants PKF FPM has been appointed to oversee the winding up, the Belfast Telegraph reported.
