Asia Energy Logistics has acquired two handysize bulkers from Clipper Group for $20.6m, the company has confirmed.

The Hong Kong-listed company said it had agreed to acquire the 32,000-dwt Clipper Selo and Clipper Panorama (both built 2011).

Asia Energy Logistics said it has subsequently secured period charters of between 23 to 25 months for the two vessels from an unnamed charterer.

The charterer, which is described as being Northern European, has an option to extend the charters for a further 11 to 13 months.

Asia Energy Logistics, which entered the dry bulk market in January 2010, owns one other bulker – the 28,000-dwt Asia Energy (built 2001).
