AP Moller-Maersk appears to still be dealing with the global cyberattack as one of the largest boxship terminals in the US remains shuttered.

On Tuesday, the ransomware known as Petya was unleashed on a number of firms including the world's largest shipping company. While Maersk confirmed the attack did not affect vessel operations, its APM Terminals' subsidiary did take the brunt of Petya with terminal operations on both the US Atlantic and Pacific Coast halting.

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey notified trucks coming for containers that APM's Port Elizabeth gate operations were closed through Thursday.

APM said it will extend "free time," which is the grace period for picking up containers, from Tuesday through Thursday. APM personnel are still without telephone and email access.

"We continue to diligently work on our service recovery plan inclusive of restoring all systems capabilities and access. At this time we continue to work vessel operations and are targeting some level of gate operations for Friday."
