A Chinese cargoship has been badly damaged in a collision with an MSC boxship off China.
VesselFinder reported that the 11,660-teu MSC Luciana (built 2009) and a vessel named as Sulianhaiji 0118 clashed in the Bohai Sea, seven miles off Caofeidian port on Monday evening.
MSC Luciana was en route to Busan.
Sulianhaiji 0118 sustained a large hull breach to starboard and major water ingress.
No injuries were reported.
An animation of the collision by VesselFinder using AIS data appears to show the Chinese vessel moving across the path of the boxship.
