Erifili Tsironi has joined Navios Maritime Containers as its chief financial officer, replacing Chris Christopoulos, who has left the company.

Tsironi joins from sister company Navios Maritime Acquisition, where she has been co-chief financial officer since December 2018.

Before that, she was chief financial officer of Navios Maritime Midstream Partners from its inception in 2014 until its merger with sibling Navios Maritime Acquisition.

Tsironi has over 17 years of experience in banking focusing on ship finance, including a spell at DVB Bank as its global dry bulk sector coordinator and senior vice-president.

Christopoulos is a former investment banker and Teekay executive who joined Navios in 2017.

Navios Containers is a NASDAQ-listed growth vehicle dedicated to the container sector.

The company saw its net profit dwindle to just $53,000 during the first quarter this year, compared to $3.04m during the first three months of 2018.

It has built a 30-vessel containership fleet over the past two years.
