OOCL is bolstering capacity on its intra-Asia route between two of the world’s largest economies – India and China.

The Hong Kong liner company is set to add a second string to its Far East Chennai Service (FCS) in late January 2018.

The FCS2 will offer direct services from China and South East Asia to South East India allowing OOCL to offer two weekly sailings with a more comprehensive coverage between the Far East and India.

The company said the first sailing for the new service will be from Shanghai on 23 January 2018. However, details about the tonnage to be deployed were not disclosed.

From Shanghai the service will then call at Ningbo, Hong Kong, Shekou, Singapore, Port Kelang and Chennai, with the return leg calling at Kattupalli, Port Kelang and Singapore before returning direct to Shanghai.
