The Baltic Exchange has moved swiftly to replace two top executives who quit their positions in Singapore.

Taking over Chris Jones’ role as head of Asia Pacific is Lu Su Ling, who joined the Baltic from its Singapore Exchange (SGX) parent in January.

Jones left the Baltic last Friday after resigning in order to pursue other personal interests.

Lu, who has an accounting background and holds a bachelor of commerce degree from the University of Melbourne, has been with SGX since 2001.

During her time there, she led various teams including corporate and market strategy as well as post-trade services.

Immediately prior to joining the Baltic she was chief operating officer of the SGX-affiliated Energy Market Co, an operator in Singapore’s wholesale electricity market.

Her main roles there were strategy planning and business development.

Soon to join the Baltic in Singapore is Howe Robinson broker Mark Mah, who will take over Marcus Lee’s role as head of sales for Asia Pacific. Lee submitted his resignation at the end of January.

TradeWinds understands that Mah will take up his new role in March.

Mah’s background is in the tanker sector. He was most recently head of Howe Robinson's chemical tanker desk in Singapore.
