Diana Shipping has fixed a post-panamax bulker to Al Ghurair Resources for a year at a rate in line with the market.
The Simeon Palios-led shipowner has entered into a time charter contract with the UAE-based company for 98,704 dwt Polymnia (built 2012) at $14,500 per day, for 12 to 14 months.
The charter is expected to make about $5.22m of gross revenue for the minimum scheduled period of the time charter.
Diana Shipping's fleet currently consists of four Newcastlemaxes, 14 capesizes, five post-panamaxes, five kamsarmaxes and 15 panamaxes.
The average time charter rate for an 82,000-dwt panamax for one year comes in at $14,125 per day, according to Clarksons.
