Sinokor Merchant Marine (SMM) has reportedly sold another large bulker for demolition.

European scrap brokers said the diversified South Korean shipowner has sold the the 243,000-dwt ore carrier Atlantic Merchant (built 1992), possibly for demolition in Bangladesh, for $405 per ldt or $14.7m.

The company did not respond to a requests for comment.

Sinokor bought the Atlantic Merchant from HOSCO for $12m in September 2012, when it was named the General.

In April, Sinokor reportedly sold another large bulker, the 171,000-dwt Silver Geneva (built 1999) for recycling reportedly for $475m per ldt.

Earlier this month, Sinokor was reported to have sold three containerships, the 4,050-teu and Rotterdam Bridge (both built 2001) and the 4,250-teu Singapore Bridge (built 2002).

But TradeWinds has reported that the deal has not gone through.
