Search and rescue authorities have found another body of a seafarer following the sinking of a Bourbon anchor-handler in the eastern Atlantic.

The French company said this was the fourth confirmed death after the Bourbon Rhode (built 2006) was lost on 26 September.

Its crisis cell director Cyrille Le Bris said: "Despite significant search resources for the rescue of the crew, the fate of the missing is an ever-increasing source of anxiety for the families.

"We remain fully mobilised to pursue relief operations and reiterate our warm thanks to all the teams that have volunteered and are helping us in our search."

The ship had been lashed by the category four hurricane Lorenzo in the Caribbean and was initially reported to be taking on water, but later sank.

Another seven of its 14 crew still remain missing, while three were rescued.
