Swiss liner giant MSC has denied it is chartering six new dual-fuel boxships from Idan Ofer's Eastern Pacific Shipping.

Reports had linked the company to the 15,000-teu LNG-fuelled vessels on order at Hyundai Samho.

The neo-panamax boxships were said to have been chartered for 15 years at an undisclosed rate.

Eastern Pacific had said it did not comment on market rumours.

The Idan Ofer company signed up for the containership newbuildings last year and was reported to have paid more than $120m each for the vessels.

Hyundai Samho, part of shipbuilding giant Hyundai Heavy Industries, is scheduled to deliver the sextet between 2020 and early 2022.
