Clipper’s Gary Lawrence takes on chartering job

Clipper Bulk (USA) director Gary Lawrence will also take the mantle as head of chartering in the Stamford office, he tells TradeWinds.

Lawrence steps in after the departure of Jesper Christensen, who was the head of chartering since November 2015. 

Last month, Genco Shipping & Trading named Christensen as vice president and commercial director for its minor bulk fleet.

Lawrence, a 16-year veteran of Clipper Bulk (USA), had previously served as head of chartering in the Stamford office.

“We are continuing to grow the business in the Stamford office, and maintain strong relations with our customers,” he tells TradeWinds.

Clipper Bulk operates a fleet of 160 modern bulk carriers, primarily in the handysize, supramax and ultramax segments.
