Italian police have seized 13 tons of hashish from a Turkish general cargoship.
Eleven crew, all Ukrainians and Georgians, were arrested on the 3,300-dwt Munzur (built 2008) in the operation on Wednesday 10 miles northeast of Pantelleria, Rai News reported.
The drugs were divided up into 500 parcels.
The vessel has been taken to Palermo for investigation. AIS data shows it stopped at the port.
The IMO's Equasis database lists the beneficial owner as Anmar Uluslararasi Nakliyat of Mersin.
