Maersk Broker continues to swell its dry cargo ranks with the hire of two brokers in Copenhagen, TradeWinds has learned.

Panamax and capesize specialist Anders Francke and Mikael Aaen Verge have been hired from Howe Robinson Partners, sources say.

Peter Kerr-Dineen, chairman of Howe Robinson Partners, explains the departures are in the normal course of business.

He says the company's office in Copenhagen is growing and will continue to do so in the years ahead.

Maersk Broker has been on the dry cargo expansion trail with new recruits and takeovers helping to grow the division.

In April Maersk Broker hired a string of former Lightship brokers are set to join the company in Copenhagen, while its London team will be boosted with the arrival of a number of former ACM broking and research staff.

The same month the brokerage hired Anders Hoejmose Pedersen, the former Pacific Basin and Arrow man, to head a new bulker desk in Dubai.

It followed the acquisition of a majority stake in Lanic and the purchase of a strategic stake in Wonsild Dry.
