Two Isle of Man controlled supramax bulkers are reported sold enbloc to a Greek buyer.

The Hyundai Vinashin built 55,000-dwt Sheffield (built 2010) and Peterborough (built 2009) are changing hands for $21m in total, sources say.

VesselsValue says the ships are controlled by Isle of Man based Linur group.

The ships are among a fleet of seven bulkers managed by the Lars T Ugland company MX Bulk Management.

MX, formerly LT Ugland Shipping, owns five modern ultramax bulkers, including two newbuildings at Tsuneishi Zhoushan.

Lars Ugland works closely with Tsuneishi. Some obervers have even claimed that the yard owns the MX Bulkers.

This company is known as a tonnage provider and is engaged om the same market as JJ Ugland of Norway.

The two companies are separate, but Lars Ugland is the uncle of the owner of JJ Ugland, Knut Nikolai Ugland.
