Maiju Stockel-Kvamme has been appointed chief operating officer at the Norwegian Hull Club (NHC) from 1 February.

Stockel-Kvamme is currently head of risk management and business operations.

She is a rising star at the Bergen-based hull and machinery mutual having joined the NHC in 2020 after a career in finance.

NHC chief executive Hans Christian Seim said: “Maiju quickly proved her structural skills and displayed her ‘can-do’ attitude after joining the club. We cannot help but admire her enthusiasm and ability to handle her wide variety of tasks.”

The position of COO has been newly created as chief business development officer Ole Jorgen Eikanger is to focus entirely on his other role as chief executive of subsidiary Instech Solutions.

Instech developed the marine and energy insurance software system INS+ for the NHC and other brokers and insurers.

The system is being replaced by a new software product called Etuity Core covering all lines of business related to marine and offshore energy insurance.

“To succeed in this particularly important step in Instech Solutions’ ongoing journey — possibly one of the most exciting development projects of its type in Norway — Ole Jorgen’s leadership, time and efforts are crucial,” Seim said.
