A group of former GC Rieber employees have lost an appeal against their sacking by the company.

Gulating court of appeal has ruled in favour of the Norwegian shipowner in a case involving 17 ex-staff.

They originally lost the case in 2018 at Bergen district court, but appealed.

The employees' contracts were terminated when GC Rieber decided to liquidate the internal crewing company GC Rieber Crewing.

Each of the parties are liable for their own legal costs.

But the ruling may be appealed again, within a month.
