Shipping law firm Campbell Johnston Clark (CJC) has appointed Florida-based veteran litigator Neil Bayer as partner to head up its new Miami office.

The office, which opens in September, will handle commercial vessel hull and yacht claims in the US and Caribbean.

The move marks the latest expansion by CJC which also has outposts in Singapore and Newcastle and has been on a recruitment drive.

CJC recruited Bayer from law firm Kennedys. He will be joined at CJC by former colleagues Chase Jansson and Cindy Delgado.

CJC director Alistair Johnston said: “He brings a wealth of experience in yacht and superyacht litigation, a superb knowledge of first and third party insurance, cargo and crew liability claims, and exceptional proficiency in purchase and custom-build contract work.”
