Three people have been arrested after 47kg of cocaine were found on a cargoship in Miami.
CBS cited police as saying they acted on a tip off to stake out the 590-dwt Lady Philomena (built 1956) in the Miami River on Saturday.
Haitian nationals Jihmy Jean-Pierre, Franz Mompremier and Emanuel Reginald were held after they were spotted trying to unload the drugs from a cargo hold in buckets.
A search of the ship uncovered six buckets with cocaine in them.
The men have been charged with trafficking in illegal drugs.
The Miami Herald said the case will be prosecuted in circuit court by the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office.
