Maersk Broker chief executive Anders Hald is satisfied with the company’s performance in 2017 following a very busy period for both transaction levels and expansion.

Hald says the company saw increased activity in most areas, with continued expansion in its dry cargo chartering and offshore shipbroking operations — including deals for Lanic and Kennedy Marr.

Growth has also been achieved in its research and advisory business, with 2017 seeing more than 30 new staff members recruited overall, Hald wrote on the company’s LinkedIn page.

He says Maersk Broker was involved in well over 100 sale-and-purchase deals in 2017.

It was also active in more than 35 newbuilding and resale transactions and in excess of 2,000 fixtures.

“For us, 2017 turned out to be a very busy but also rewarding year — especially in terms of business development, where we have experienced increased activity within most of our activity areas,” Hald said.
