Norway's GC Rieber Shipping has confirmed the appointment of three new top executives after its CEO quit in September.

The OSV owner said acting CEO Einar Ytredal now has the top job on a permanent basis.

The former CFO stepped up in an interim capacity in September when CEO Christian Berg resigned to return to his private shipping company Bech Offshore.

Bech Offshore was set up in 2017 to invest in distressed OSV assets like laid-up ships or to manage ones seized by banks in the downturn.

But Bech was bought by GC Rieber last July as Berg agreed to become its CEO.

Its activities were sold back by Rieber.

The shipping company also said Oystein Kvale has become CFO and Christoffer Knudsen is the new chief commercial officer (CCO).

Ytredal has been with Rieber since 2007, while Kvale joined in 2014 and served as acting CFO in 2016 and 2017.

Knudsen was previously director of chartering and projects at GC Rieber, having been recruited in 2013 from the Wilhelmsen group.

"We are very pleased to strengthen our management team with highly competent and experienced people who have extensive knowledge of GC Rieber Shipping's business", said chairman Paul-Christian Rieber.

"They will play an important part in developing our company in line with our long-term strategic ambitions."

The company has a fleet of 11 ships.
