Norway's Golden Energy Offshore Services (GEOS) has found term work for its two new multipurpose platform supply vessels ahead of the winter.

The 4,000-dwt sisters Energy Empress and Energy Duchess (built 2019) have secured minimum 90-day contracts from an undisclosed North Sea client.

"These contracts commence at a time when the North Sea Spot market is expected to be slower due to the upcoming winter season and reconfirm the competitiveness of these modern energy effective vessels," it said.

The deals provide a sustainable positive EBITDA margin, the company added.

Two other vessels in the fleet are fixed until 30 November this year and 20 January 2020.

Utilisation has been 96% so far this year and GEOS has 335 vessel days secured for the fourth quarter.

CEO Per Ivar Fagervoll added: “I am very pleased that we have now been able to secure some winter work for the vessels, which is very important for us and continue to maintain a very high utilisation of the fleet for the rest of 2019 and in to 2020."
