Two of Singapore-based PACC Offshore Services Holdings’ offshore accommodation vessels have secured long-term charters with Petrobras.

The company said today that the 35,200-gt semi-submersible accommodation vessels POSH Xanadu and POSH Arcadia (both built 2013) will begin working for Petrobras at the start of 2021.

The vessels will provide maintenance and accommodation support for multiple Petrobras platforms and floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) vessels in Brazilian waters.

The charters for both vessels will run for approximately three years, with an option to extend for a further 18 months. The value of the contract has not been disclosed.

This latest deal will be the third Petrobras contract for the POSH Xanadu third contract but the first for the POSH Arcadia.

Ulva Chai, POSH’s managing director for offshore services, said the company had encountered stiff competition when bidding on the contracts.

“Amid Covid-19, we will work to ensure the health and safety of all involved without compromising our trademark world-class service. We look forward to working with Petrobras again and thank them for their continued trust,” he added.

POSH chief executive officer Lee Keng Lin said the charters would provide “stability to our business in the coming years”.

POSH Arcadia and POSH Xanadu are designed for deep waters and harsh operating environments. Each accommodate 750 passengers, and dynamic position 3 systems offer “walk-to-work” capabilities.

Offshore projects the vessels have recently worked on include Shell Prelude – the largest ever offshore floating facility, the Chevron Big Foot Tension Leg Platform project and Shell the Gumusut Kakap Turnaround project.
