Kristian Siem-backed Subsea 7 has won a "substantial" new contract for subsea services from BP Exploration.

The deal is worth between $150m and $300m and involves construction, inspection, repair and maintenance, it said.

This covers BP’s North Sea region west of Shetland and in the northern North Sea.

The five-year deal will see a life-of-field support vessel, the 113-loa Normand Subsea (built 2009), deployed with observation-class remotely operated vehicles.

Offshore activities began in January.

In December, Subsea 7 clinched a deal with BP worth between $50m and $150m.

It said the SURF (subsea umbilicals, risers and flow lines) contract for the Manuel project in the US Gulf of Mexico will be carried out by its Subsea Integration Alliance.

This is a partnership between Subsea 7 and OneSubsea Schlumberger.
