A struggling Singapore offshore player has found itself in court over an alleged outstanding catering bill worth close to $1m.

Ezion Holdings said two of its subsidiaries have been issued with summons by Whitesea Shipping & Supply (LLC) FZC, which is based in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The Sharjah-headquartered company has requested the High Court of Singapore wind up Teras Conquest 3 Pte (TC3PL) and Teras Conquest 5 Pte (TC5PL).

In affidavits submitted to the court, Whitesea contends that TC3PL owes the company $408,275.94 and TC5PL owes it $518,879 for the “provision of catering services” under service agreements dated 18 May 2017 and 9 May 2017, respectively.

“TC3PL and TC5PL are of the view that there is no basis for Whitesea’s winding-up applications, as the two companies have respective counterclaims against the company and the debts are disputed,” Ezion Holdings said in a statement.

The winding-up applications are scheduled to be heard at 10am local time on 17 April and both companies have said they are “currently exploring legal representation” to defend the applications.

Ezion Holdings added that it does not believe that the proceedings will “cause any material disruptions” to its operations and business.
