Clarksons Platou has appointed a former Lloyds Bank employee to lead its specialist asset finance advisory team.
Shaun Allen will head the shipbroker’s structured asset finance department, which focuses on longer term structured financing solutions working closely with leasing, insurance companies and various funds.
The department to be led by Allen will help these companies play a greater role in financing the global shipping industry, Clarksons said.
Allen said: “I am delighted to be leading this highly experienced team, developing Clarkson Platou’s market leading client offer and expanding our capability in the highly specialist area of long-term asset finance.”
He has more than 30 years experience in this field while he served as head of distribution and client assets management for Lloyds Bank in his latest role.
Besides shipping transactions, Allen has also worked on aircraft finance deals, according to his Linkedin profile.
