Christian Pritchard-Davies has been appointed chief financial officer (CFO) at Gard from January next year.

Prichard-Davies, who has been with Gard since 2014, is currently vice president and head of infrastructure and operations at the Norwegian mutual.

He qualified as an auditor with PWC where he worked for three years. He earlier became a Master of Auditing and Accounting at the Norwegian School of Economics in Bergen.

The position of CFO at Gard has been vacant since Steinar Bye resigned earlier this year.

“I am pleased that we have been able to fill this strategically important role from within Gard," Gard chief executive Rolf Thore Roppestad said. "Christian offers us a strong combination of in-depth financial understanding and strategic insight about the group’s structure, operational needs and the future challenges."

He said Prichard-Davies has been deeply involved in several key projects, demonstrating his ability to think strategically and tackle issues.

“There is no doubt that as the marine insurance industry continues to develop and evolve, these skills will be of tremendous value to the group,” Roppestad said.
